Gonzalo Celis is a Chilean guitarist and musician who began his musical journey at the age of ten in Santiago, Chile. His first guitar lessons were under the guidance of Cristina Navarro and René Mena. After completing high school, he continued his studies with the distinguished Chilean guitarist Romilio Orellana.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in 2008 and his Diploma in 2010, graduating with the professional title of “Music Performer with a specialization in Guitar” from the "Pontifical Catholic University of Chile" (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) under the mentorship of Prof. Alejandro Peralta Beher.
During his studies, he had the privilege of taking masterclasses with renowned artists such as Roberto Aussel, Eduardo Fernández, Ricardo Gallén, Pablo Márquez, and Eduardo Isaac, which greatly influenced his artistic development.
In 2013, Gonzalo moved to Berlin to continue his studies and further explore the art of both classical and popular music. He completed his Master's degree in 2019 at the "Berlin University of the Arts" (Universität der Künste Berlin) under the guidance of Prof. Rainer Feldmann.
As a performer, Gonzalo Celis has appeared both as a soloist and in various ensembles across Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Germany, Austria, Belgium and France. His performances include prestigious festivals and venues such as Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Brussels), Klassik Krumbach Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Kissinger Sommer Internationales Musikfestival (Bad Kissingen), Deutsche Oper Berlin, Volksbühne Berlin, Konzerthaus Berlin, Berliner Philharmonie and Isarphilharmonie (Munich), among many others.
