Gonzalo Celis began his musical studies in Santiago de Chile when he was ten years old and received his first guitar lessons from Cristina Navarro and René Mena. After finishing school, he took lessons with the Chilean guitarist Romilio Orellana. He completed his bachelor's degree (2008) and graduated (2010) as "Music Performer: Guitar" at the "Pontifical Catholic University of Chile" (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), where Prof. Alejandro Peralta Beher was his teacher.

During his years at the university in Chile, he received master classes from Roberto Aussel, Eduardo Fernández, Ricardo Gallén, Pablo Márquez and Eduardo Isaac.

Since 2013, the Chilean musician lives in Berlin to continue his studies and also to develop the art of popular and classical music. In 2019 he obtained his master's degree at the "Berlin University of the Arts" (Universität der Künste Berlin) under the mentoring of Prof. Rainer Feldmann.

Gonzalo Celis has performed, both as a soloist and as part of different ensembles, in Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Germany, Austria, Belgium and France. Including festivals and venues like Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Brussels), Klassik Krumbach Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, Clärchens Ballhaus (Berlin), Deutsche Oper Berlin, Volksbühne (Berlin), Konzerthaus Berlin, to name a few.
